Goodyear will be integrating HERE location services in its one-stop fleet management solution to reduce vehicle downtime and make fleets more efficient.
HERE Technologies and Goodyear Total Solutions Combine Into One Enhanced Programme for Fleets
HERE Technologies, a specialist location data and technology platform, confirmed that its location services are being integrated into Goodyear’s Total Mobility one-stop fleet management solution to offer a customised suite of vehicle-to-fleet operation management tools.
The one-stop fleet management solution will combine Goodyear’s TPMS data with HERE location services. The joining of skillsets means that Goodyear’s TPMS’s advanced sensor and predictive algorithm solution will help fleets avoid tyre-related breakdowns. HERE’s location services can also ensure that fleet operators and Goodyear service providers can localise a vehicle needing a service or road assistance intervention within a few meters, navigating them to the nearest maintenance station. In addition, Goodyear has also been using HERE SDK (Software Development Kit) to provide a mobile application for commercial drivers.
HERE SDK Available in 190 Countries and 60 Languages
The HERE SDK is a set of programming interfaces that gives access to HERE’s complete portfolio of services, such as in-vehicle navigation, traffic alerts, transit information and fleet management features. The HERE SDK provides vector maps in over 190 countries and 60 languages with optimised map data sizes to minimise download latency, to provide faster response times. Map customisation tools enable various adjustments such as highlighting important objects on a map by changing colours and icons, as well as editing dynamic properties of cartography objects, including buildings and roads.
The HERE SDK mapping, routing and search functions incorporate truck-specific road information, vehicle regulations and points of interest. HERE Routing also enables fleet managers to deliver optimised navigation routes incorporating the attributes of the roadway, legal and physical restrictions and adjusted road hierarchy and topology.
