GRI Highlights its Vision at the “Sustainability in Tires” Conference
CEO of GRI, Dr Mahesha Ranasoma, was a distinguished speaker at the Smithers conference on “Sustainability in Tires” in Shanghai, China.
Dr Ranasoma delivered a presentation entitled; “The Green Revolution of the Tire Industry: A Deep Dive into ESG Integration,” drawing the attention of industry leaders in attendance. He highlighted GRI’s role in developing sustainable speciality tyres and green practices, emphasising the company’s commitment to advancing environmentally conscious solutions.
The “Sustainability in Tires 2023” conference provided a unique platform for tyre industry professionals and stakeholders from the Asia-Pacific region to connect, collaborate, and explore the latest advancements in sustainability within the tyre industry.
With its long-standing history in organising tyre-related events, Smithers brought its expertise of over 95 years in tyre testing, materials, and technology to this distinguished gathering. The conference addressed critical topics, including OEM requirements, tyre performance, emerging technologies, testing methodologies, and materials.
Dr Mahesha Ranasoma highlighted GRI’s role in the green revolution of the tyre industry, exemplified by the introduction of sustainable agriculture and forklift tyres by GRI. These innovative tyres incorporate a high degree of sustainable materials, a testament to GRI’s commitment to sustainability and innovation within the industry. Dr Ranasoma also spoke about the GREEN X CIRCLE, an initiative that integrates social leadership, fostering local and global collaborations with farming communities. He emphasised the company’s dedication to nurturing sustainability champions throughout the value chain.
The GREEN XLR EARTH series of sustainable radial agriculture tyres and the ULTIMATE GREEN XT sustainable forklift tyres were a centrepiece of Dr Ranasoma’s presentation. GRI will continue to advance in its vision to impact the planet positively.
