Goodyear announced the partnership extension with the FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC), as a title sponsor and exclusive tyre supplier for the 2025-2027 season.
Truck Racing Tradition
Goodyear has a rich truck racing tradition dating back to 2003. The Goodyear FIA ETRC brings together some of Europe’s most legendary racing circuits, attracting thousands of spectators and industry representatives interested in high-performance truck racing. With the renewed sponsorship, the 2025-2027 season promises exciting truck racing action and underscores Goodyear’s commitment to motorsports, where innovative tyre technology is tested and refined to the utmost.
Additionally, the Goodyear FIA ETRC’s sustainability efforts have received significant recognition, going from #16 to #13 in the latest Sustainable Championships Index™. This improvement demonstrates the championship’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices and driving positive change within the industry.
“Goodyear’s extended partnership with the FIA ETRC underscores our two-decade commitment to the development of truck racing. It is a platform to showcase advances in tyre technology in terms of durability, efficiency and sustainability in the most demanding conditions. We are proud to continue to support this racing championship, its teams and its fans. The insights we gain in this high-performance environment drive innovation in our truck tyres and result in products that help transport fleets achieve their business goals and remain competitive,” says Maciej Szymański, Marketing Director Commercial EMEA at Goodyear.
Georg Fuchs, Managing Director of the European Truck Racing Association (ETRA), added: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with Goodyear for another three years. Together we have worked to expand the FIA ETRC not only as a motorsport championship but also as a platform for sustainability and technological innovation. This extension underscores our vision for a more sustainable future in truck racing and the transportation industry.”
Sustainability Commitment
Sustainability will continue to be a key focus for both Goodyear and the ETRC, which recently achieved three-star environmental accreditation from the FIA. This recognition highlights the championship’s efforts to reduce environmental impact, including the use of 100% renewable HVO biofuel since 2021. Truck racing tyres from the championship are retreaded and transformed into standard on-road Goodyear tyres for transportation fleets.
Goodyear has also received a three-star rating under the FIA environmental accreditation. Aside from the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, the certification covers Goodyear Racing EMEA’s motorsport projects, including the brand’s presence in the FIA World Endurance Championship, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the European Le Mans Series.
The Next Generation
As part of its continued partnership, Goodyear introduced a new truck racing tyre in 2024, developed at its Innovation Center in Luxembourg. The new tyre enhances grip, durability and performance in both wet and dry conditions, compared to its predecessor. After its first season of use, the tyre has delivered solid support to the teams, proving its ability to perform reliably across a variety of track conditions and, thanks to better durability, reducing the overall number of tyres used in the Championship. These innovations not only set new racing benchmarks but also reflect the same reliability and efficiency Goodyear strives to provide to fleets across Europe.
Goodyear’s dedication to motorsport extends far beyond truck racing. For the 2025 season, the brand continues as the exclusive tyre supplier for the LMP2 category in both the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as for all teams competing in the LMGT3 category of ELMS and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Furthermore, Goodyear has recently been named the Official Title Sponsor of the 2025 Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone, further strengthening its commitment to innovation and excellence in motorsport across multiple disciplines.
The Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) will again play a vital role in Goodyear’s Drive Results Tour. Visitors from transport fleets will be able to experience Goodyear Total Mobility’s end-to-end solutions firsthand and see how tyres and tyre monitoring technologies translate from the track to real-world fleet operations.
