Goodyear announces the launch of Goodyear TPMS Connect, an innovative solution that can help fleets address the challenges presented by pre-installed tyre pressure management systems (TPMS).
EU TPMS Regulations
Goodyear TPMS Connect is based on the latest TPMS regulation from the European Union, which requires all new motor vehicles, including trucks, trailers, buses and vans, to be equipped with a TPMS that can accurately measure tyre pressure and transfer the information to the driver.
Many fleets are equipped with standard TPMS from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), which can typically only deliver alerts to the driver. This can potentially limit the ability of the fleet back office to respond promptly to a tyre issue. This, in turn, can potentially lead to costly downtime and maintenance.
Goodyear TPMS Connect addresses these shortcomings by providing a seamless plug-and-play solution that integrates with existing telematics TPMS hardware. Goodyear’s solution leverages existing TPMS hardware and extends it with comprehensive data access and intelligent fleet management capabilities.
Key Benefits of the TPMS Connect
- Seamless Integration: Easily connects to existing telematics TPMS, without additional hardware or SIM cards.
- Fast onboarding: Fast vehicle onboarding via radio (OTA = Over the Air) with no vehicle downtime during installation. It is also connected to the Goodyear Cloud within 24 hours.
- Advanced Data Access: Provides fleet operators with predictive and prescriptive alerts, enabling data-driven decisions.
- Comprehensive Visibility: Provides GPS tracking and geofencing capabilities to enable efficient and targeted location-based maintenance.
- Intelligent Analytics: Uses innovative algorithms to analyse TPMS data and provide actionable insights for proactive monitoring and maintenance.
Goodyear engineers have developed a series of special algorithms, G-Predict technology, that can detect potential tyre problems in advance. These algorithms can help keep the vehicle operational and minimise downtime.
Currently, Goodyear TPMS Connect is available on a select range of new OEM trailers. Therefore, pioneering users can experience the benefits of improved tyre management and fleet optimisation. Goodyear understands the diverse needs of fleet operators. With this in mind, the company aims to expand the availability of this innovative solution to a wider range of vehicles soon.
Goodyear will present TPMS Connect at IAA Transportation 2024 Hall 21, Stand B38). Visitors can experience how this modern solution can transform fleet management. Goodyear experts will be on-site to demonstrate seamless integration and demonstrate the benefits of proactive tyre maintenance.
