Giti Tire has launched the Giti GSR237EVO and the Giti GDR675EVO. The first in a series of new truck and bus tyres to carry the EVO name. This signifies energy-saving solutions through improved rolling resistance coefficient (RRC).

Giti Emphasising Lower RRC Truck and Bus Tyres with EVO Launches

The GSR237EVO steer tyre has improved its Rolling Resistance Coefficient (RRC) rating to a B-grade, up from a C-grade on the previous GSR237. It’s available in sizes 315/70R22.5, 385/55R22.5, and 385/65R22.5. Similarly, the GDR675EVO drive tyre has achieved a C-grade RRC, improving on the GDR675. The 315/70R22.5 size is currently available. Both tyres feature an A-grade for exterior noise. They are part of Giti’s Combi Road portfolio, designed for regional application use.

New internal compounds with lower hysteresis and advanced tyre curing technology have achieved the results. Moreover, it significantly lowers hysteresis generation to improve the RRC and reduce fuel consumption. They also feature an advanced profile concept to ensure even wear and improved robustness and retreadability.

RFID Chip Installed

The Giti tyres are among the first products to arrive in Europe carrying an RFID chip in the sidewall. This allows monitoring of the whole tyre life. The system allows identification on a single unit level and is guaranteed across the lifetime of each tyre, with digital information readable by all stakeholders and users covering tyre manufacturing, logistics, OEMs, distributors, and wholesalers, fleet management, quality assurance, retreading, and end-of-life.

Giti GSR237 and Giti GDR675 Remain in the Truck and Bus Portfolio

Antonio Palummo, Senior Manager TBR, Product Development and Technical Service for Giti Tire, said, “Tyres with the EVO name have been created so fleets can easily identify regional and combi road tyres which deliver lower RRC for regional applications.”

“The Giti GSR237EVO and Giti GDR675EVO, which originally debuted at The Tire Cologne 2024, mark the very first of these products, and tests have shown them to perform exceptionally well across all types of driving conditions.”

“Alongside the Eco Road designation for long-haul operations, they together represent a series of new truck and bus products delivering energy-saving solutions through lower RRC.”

Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany, led the development of the GSR237EVO and GDR675EVO.
