The Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación (Ministery for Agriculture, Fishing and Food in Spain) has announced its latest registration figures for tractors and automotive machinery for June, with the sector seeing the first year-on-year drop for 2021, which has failed to noticeably stunt its progression in its year-to-date performance compared to 2020.
Year-to-Date Performance Looks Healthy for 2021
Starting with tractor registrations in the country, the Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación reported that 1,050 tractors were registered in June 2021, which represented a 6.75% drop-off compared to June 2020. Andalucia, Castilla y León and Castilla – La Mancha were the autonomous regions seeing the most activity with 262, 127 and 123 tractors sold respectively over the course of the month.
Despite the small decline in year-on-year figures, 2021’s tractor registrations are still tracking positively from a year-to-date standpoint, with the sector growing to the tune of 28.95% in comparison with H1 in 2020.
The trends seen for tractors have been somewhat mirrored for automotive machinery which covers: harvesting equipment, loading equipment, tractor trucks and power tillers asa 19.28% decrease in year-on-year registrations were recorded for the month. With 180 units sold in Spain during June, Castilla y León and Cataluña were the most active regions in terms of registrations with 54 and 30 units recorded accordingly. Notwithstanding the near 20% decline, automotive machinery still registered a 15% year-to-date improve for H1 in 2021.
