Apollo Tyres Begins Deliveries of its EnduMile LHT
“The tyre offers impressive levels of performance in all aspects, including an A rating in rolling resistance, a first for an Apollo Tyres truck tyre,” according to Apollo.
It is the most fuel efficient truck tyre ever produced by Apollo Tyres in Europe. It has been developed to outperform the best-performing LHT tyres on the market. The free-rolling tread pattern, designed specifically for trailer axles, incorporates a compact centre rib to facilitate road grip and ensure efficient operation. In addition, it achieves an A classification in rolling noise.
The tyre has a wide and stable contact surface that optimises pressure distribution. Thanks to a new mixture of polymers and fillers, rolling resistance is minimised and provides constant levels of grip on wet surfaces. Its innovative compound also helps manage temperature changes during prolonged use to maintain its superior performance characteristics and contribute to durability.
To reduce lifetime costs, the EnduMile LHT uses a durable casing that facilitates retreading, a key requirement for many European long-haul customers.
Manufactured at Apollo Tyres‘ production facility in Gyöngyöshalász, Hungary, the tyre has undergone a rigorous testing process for over two years. Led by Apollo Tires’ European R&D team, based in the Netherlands, the EnduMile LHT has completed thousands of kilometres in both virtual and real-world testing before its launch.
For his part, John Nikhil Joy, European Cluster Director for truck and bus tyres at Apollo Tyres, commented; “There has been growing customer demand for Apollo to launch such a tyre, and its extensive capabilities give us reason to be optimistic about the possibility of taking sales from well-established rivals. Our R&D team has worked tirelessly to develop a tyre with extremely low levels of rolling resistance, while promoting vehicle autonomy, driving performance and long-term durability, three key areas for the long-haul market.”
