In 2022, Continental’s ‘ContiAcademy’ – based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire will be the site for more classes and breakout sessions, as firms and fleets vie for Continental tips on tyre life, management and maintenance, as well as wheel security.
ContiAcadamy Designs Bespoke Training Courses to Suit Specified Customer Needs
Covering a broad range of applications, the academy caters for a wide range of companies, including tyre fitters and fleet operators. This year the centre has delivered over 100 training sessions through a combination of on-site, virtual and hybrid delivery methods.
Gwyn Fennell, Technical Service and Training Manager at Continental explained that the company are making key adjustments to add breakout rooms and refurbish its classrooms in line with Covid-19 protocols. She said, “We’ve seen exceptional demand for our training courses. By increasing our teaching space, we can return to pre-pandemic class sizes while maintaining the same personal approach that’s vital for safety-based training.”
The REACT roadside training and Tyre Professional Development Scheme courses have seen strong demand, so, the courses are now delivered in partnership with the National Tyre Distributor Association. The ContiAcademy is also increasing its training provision alongside the Institute of the Motor Industry with the launch of a Tyre Forensic course next year.
“The past year has also shown us that there is a desire for hybrid and virtual classroom training to remain available, as it provides a considerable time-based cost saving for many of our clients. The ContiAcadamy will, of course, continue to offer in-person classroom training sessions, as well as practical sessions on relevant courses,” Gwyn concludes, showcasing Continental’s enthusiasm for training to be part of its extended offer to its customers.
