According to Mobility Sweden, commercial vehicle registrations in Sweden reached 4,084 units representing an 11% decline compared to the same period last year. However, year-to-date (YTD) data shows an increase of 6%, with a total of 20,178 commercial vehicles registered.
Commercial Vehicle Registrations in Sweden
In May 2024, there were 3,487 LCV registrations in Sweden, 10.8% less than in May 2023. However, the market experienced an increase between January 2024 and May 2024, with a total of 17,688 vehicles registered, 9.8% more than last year. Volkswagen, Ford and Mercedes-Benz were the top three most purchased brands in May 2024 in Sweden.
Heavy truck registrations decreased as well in May 2024, with 548 vehicles registered, 14.1% less than in May 2024. YTD data follows the decreasing trend, with 2,290 registrations, 16.8% less than the same period last year. Scania, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz were the top three most purchased brands in this category.
A total of 58 buses were registered in Sweden in May 2024, 32% less than the same period last year. YTD data shows 245 units registered, 16% less than 2023. Mercedes-Benz, Scania and Iveco were the top three most purchased brands when it comes to buses.
