Commercial Vehicle Registrations in Germany Maintain Resilience Despite Minor Dip in November

According to recent data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), the commercial vehicle market in Germany continues to exhibit robust performance, even though November witnessed a slight decline in registrations.

November 2023: A Brief Dip, but Overall Growth Persists

In November 2023, commercial vehicle registrations in Germany recorded a total of 31,808 units, representing a marginal 2% decrease compared to the same month in 2022. While this indicates a brief slowdown, the broader perspective reveals that the sector has been resilient throughout the year. Looking at the cumulative figures up to the end of November 2023, the commercial vehicle market has experienced a noteworthy 19% increase in registrations compared to the same period in the previous year.

Breaking down the numbers, the registrations of Commercial Vehicles over 16 tonnes in November 2023 reached 5,337 units, showcasing a commendable 7% growth. The year-to-date data for this segment up to the end of November reveals an even more impressive 28% increase, with a total of 65,381 units sold.

The bus segment also demonstrated positive results, with 535 units registered in November, reflecting a 5% uptick. The cumulative figures for bus registrations up to the end of November 2023 show a robust 21% increase, totaling 4,885 units.
