German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) published its monthly report on commercial vehicle registrations in Germany showing a slight decline in January 2025.

The latest VDA report showed a total of 28,006 commercial vehicle registrations in Germany in 2025, which is a 4% decline in the market compared to January 2024. Light commercial vehicle registrations increased by 2% compared to January 2024, with a total of 21,909 units registered.
Heavy commercial vehicle registrations (trucks ≥16t) had a notable decline in January 2025, with 4,318 units registered, which is 25% less than January 2024.
Bus registrations follow the declining trend in Germany this January, with only 390 buses registered, which is 34% less than in January 2024.
