The monthly registration figures have been released by the Comité des Constructeurs Français d’Automobiles, the Automotive manufacturing association in France for June with the key reading a 21.95% year-on-year drop compared to a year ago.
Year-to-date Figures also Trailing 2021 Standpoint
June 2022 saw 36,515 light commercial vehicles (commercial vehicles under 5.1 tonnes) registered in France representing a 21.95% drop against June 2021. As for the year-to-date figures, the Comité des Constructeurs Français d’Automobiles stated that 183,690 registrations in the LCV segment had been made by the end of June 2022, meaning it trails 2021 by 24.39%.
The Renault Group and Stellantis had the highest market share for June with 37.98% and 35.37% respectively with the Renault, Peugeot and Citroen brands leading the way. The trend is replicated in the H1 figures as the two groups lead the way in terms of market share with Stellantis holding 44.72% and the Renault Group 26.64%. In terms of brands, Renault is still at the top with 26% of the market and Citroen and Peugeot both hovering around 18%.
Tyre manufacturers will be hoping these registrations start picking back up soon and move at least in line with 2021 registration levels to help more OE sales back in line with what was seen last year.
