As part of CAM’s ongoing investment in both internal and external talent and skills development, the company is extending its sponsorship of Dan Zelos, the current MINI CHALLENGE UK Graduate Cup champion, to cover the 2021/22 season.
CAM Extends Motorsport Sponsorship
The new sponsorship agreement will enable 22-year-old Dan to continue his driving development that will aid him in the short term in the MINI CHALLENGE UK and in the long term on his journey to reach the British Touring Car Championship, the UK’s premier motorsport series, and beyond.
Dan had a string of strong performances in the 2020 MINI CHALLENGE UK, where he was crowned Graduate Cup champion with a total of seven podium finishes from thirteen races. In addition to the exceptional results he achieved, he was named as one of the British Racing Drivers’ Club’s (BRDC) Rising Stars for 2020 and was also EXCELR8 Motorsport’s BTCC Development Driver, which he will continue in 2021, providing him with a platform that will assist him in his goal to make his BTCC debut in 2022.
Ryan Naughton, director of CAM, says, “As a brand we understand the importance of investing in young talent, whether that be on the racetrack or in our business and it is so exciting when we see talent reach their potential. This is our third year with Dan and we have seen him go from an emerging talent to a championship challenger. We want to succeed together and will be continuing our support of him, so he can build on last year’s success in the MINI CHALLENGE UK and go one better this year.”
Dan Zelos adds, “CAM has invested in my development as a racer from day one and we have had some amazing days on the track. In 2021, I look forward to rewarding its continued support both on and off the track by furthering my growth and development as a driver. In turn, this will assist me in making a sustained push to win the championship and achieve my other driving goals, which include making my BTCC debut in 2022.”
