Castilla y León, through its Institute for Business Competitiveness (ICE), which is financed by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund (FEDER) was given a grant of EUR 642,256 for Bridgestone’s Burgos base to promote research, technological development and innovation.
Bridgestone Grant Helps Ensure the Company Reaches New Benchmark for High-Performance Tyres
With the grant, Bridgestone has been working towards helping Castilla y León position itself as a reference point for the manufacturing of specific types of tyres. It has also been investing extensively in the training and development of its employees at the plant.
With these new technologies, Bridgestone can continue to develop new treads and internal geometries that help improve the tyre’s grip and response on the road while reducing the vehicle’s energy consumption. This technology can be also brought to other Bridgestone bases around the world, thanks to the grant making the research possible.
