On Tuesday 1st March, 200 industry professionals turned out for the 3rd Edition of Los Premios Hevea, organised by EuroPneus in conjunction with Motortec Madrid at the IFEMA Fair in Madrid. With 11,993 votes cast by professionals in the sector, the votes were verified by the Association of Notaries of Madrid representative, Miriam Herrando Deprit with the winners being announcing at a glittering event.
Gongs for Some of the Major Tyre Manufacturers in Closely-Fought Battles
Of the 200 attendees, managing and marketing staff from the major manufacturers were onboard to usher in the third Edition of Los Premios Hevea. This included representatives from ATG (Alliance), Grupo Andrés, Continental, Falken, Goodyear, Soledad Group, Hankook, Kumho Tyre, Pirelli, Prometeon, Trelleborg, Triangle, Vulco and Yokohama.
For the awards, BKT Tires scored Best Agricultural Tyre for its AGRIMAX V-FLECTOR, with 31% of the vote. The award was accepted by Luis Aniceto, Manager of José Aniceto & Irmao/ San José Neumáticos.
In a tighter race, Trelleborg Wheel Systems just etched out its nearest rival for Best OTR Tyre, with 28.31% of the vote for its Trelleborg EMR 1051 tyre. Ramón Martínez, Country Manager Trelleborg Wheel Systems España, was on hand to collect the closely-contested award.
Falken netted Best Quality Tyre Brand with 38% of the vote. Yuri Pérez, Sales Support Manager, Falken Iberia was on hand to collect this prize.
Pirelli easily won Best Truck Tyre with a healthy 44% of the vote. Andreu Olmedo, Country Manager, Prometeon for Western Europe (France, Spain and Portugal) accepted this award.
Continental had a particularly strong night, scoring Best Premium Tyre Brand, with 28% of the vote. Daniel Camacho, Director of Retail Sales, Franchising and Fleets of Continental Tires Spain, collected this award.
Continental also scored Best Tyre Manufacturer with a healthy 30% share of the vote, with Ismael Rubio, Commercial Director of Continental Tires España collecting this award.
Last but not least, Continental AG scored the coveted Honour Award, with David Moneo, Director of IFEMA Motor & Mobility handing over the award to Ismael Rubio, in recognition of Continental AG’s 150 Anniversary in the industry, capping off a memorable night for Los Premios Hevea.
