It has been a challenging start to 2021, but Dublin business Auto Tyre Services has much to celebrate as June marks 50 years since the company was initially formed in 1971 by the late Kieran Maher.
Auto Tyre’s Half-Century Celebrations
Many in the industry will remember Kieran who remained managing director of the company until he passed away in 2017.
Over the years, the company has retained a strong reputation for supply and service in the earthmover, implement, agricultural and industrial sector which in turn has built up an impressive and loyal customer base.
Aside from the 24 hours call out service and purpose-built retail depot located in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath, Auto Tyre Services, also specialises in the niche area of vulcanise repairs. This in-house service is provided for at their new head office located in Donabate, Co Dublin. The company says that by availing of this service, customers can be assured that they are maximising the life cycle of the tyre and therefore saving them money in the long term.
In 2019, Auto Tyre Services was acquired by Kerr’s Tyres Group who committed to investing in and further strengthening the growth of the company. To coincide with the 50-year anniversary, this summer will not only see the unveiling of new website but also the arrival of a Mercedes Actros 26-ton rigid truck with remote control Hiab crane with tyre handling attachment.
Group Commercial Director, James McKee said; “The last 50 years has given us plenty to celebrate, our industry has progressed in many areas not least from a health and safety aspect. Investment in the latest equipment in the Auto Tyre Services business will ensure our focus remains on servicing our customers in a faster and safer manner.”
Kieran’s daughter’s, Louise, and Joanne, continue to work for the company and they, along with the rest of the staff (some long-standing and who have been with the company since the early days), are looking forward to the future and of course, another 50 more years in business.
