Apollo Tyres Europe has launched its all-new, next-generation truck trailer tyre: the new EnduRace RT2. The ‘Regional Trailer tyre’ has been designed to provide solid all-weather performance, reduced rolling resistance and enhanced durability.
Apollo Tyres Launch Its “Tier-One Performance” EnduRace RT2 Tyre
The second generation of the EnduRace RT, the new Apollo Tyres EnduRace RT2 is produced in Europe and is designed for Regional application – suitable for medium- and long-distance transport. The tyre has been optimised for enhanced grip in wet and wintery conditions, although it performs all-year round and has the snow grip 3PMSF (three peak mountain and snowflake) mark. Apollo has also evaluated that the tyre has 15% better grip than the previous generation.
Apollo has designed the tyre to have enhanced durability and reduced rolling resistance thanks to an improved tread compound that helps minimise abrasion and heat build-up. The durable and optimised ply casing means the tyre also has enhanced retreadability to match a growing requirement amongst many fleet operators.
What to Expect from the EnduRace RD2 Tyre
“This is an extremely competitive segment in the European truck tyre market, and we have committed significant resources and expertise in research and development to ensure the new EnduRace RT2 meets the needs of the most demanding user,” Comments John Nikhil Joy, Cluster Director Europe – Truck & Bus tyres at Apollo Tyres.
Even wear across the tread pattern is another major benefit of the tyre, which is achieved thanks to a wider contact area, affording uniform pressure distribution, again assisting with durability and rolling resistance. Another quality is the reinforced casing, which contributes to improved durability – 1.7 times greater than the European regulatory requirement – and enhanced tear resistance.
Apollo’s 315/80 R22.5 Endu™Race RD2 – the All new Regional Drive Tyre Joins the Portfolio
Also being added to the Apollo truck tyre offering is the new Apollo 315/80 R22.5 Endu™Race RD2 truck tyre. The new ‘regional drive’ tyre is equipped with a unique new groove tread pattern incorporating ‘HGTech’ Hidden Groove Technology with Multi-Edge shoulder blocks – this allows for superior snow grip and optimised performance on slippery surfaces.
The new truck tyre’s snow grip is 1.4 times greater than the European regulatory standard requirement and is has 3PMSF accreditation. The pattern life and traction extension will ensure optimal performance on the regional drive tyre axle with superior traction for trucks.
John adds, “We know how tyres can have a huge impact on fleet operating costs. While we have made significant improvements to grip and traction in all conditions with the Endu™Race RD2 tyre, we have also focused on durability and rolling resistance – and, of course, we understand the importance of affordability. The Endu™Race RT 2 and RD2 offer tier-one performance and class-best value for money in Europe.”
