Apollo Tyres has launched a new portfolio of all-steel radial tyres, available in three sizes for 20-inch wheels for multi-purpose trucks that operate on- and off-road.
Apollo Tyres Launches New Terra Mpt 1 Tyre Range At IAA 2024 for Multi-Purpose Trucks
Each tyre in the Apollo Terra MPT 1 range features a self-cleaning tread pattern, closely derived from the Apollo Terra Pro 1045, which excels in off-road conditions while being silent and comfortable on the highway. A specialised, highly durable compound ensures traction and stability in extreme conditions, offering enhanced wear resistance and improved performance on challenging terrain.
The new Apollo Terra MPT 1 range is suitable for a wide selection of on- and off-road trucks, including vehicles used for roadside or infrastructural maintenance, firefighting, or military applications. The tyres are also suitable for selected recreational camping units, providing reliable traction and comfort during off-road adventures.
Durable and All-Terrain Ready
Produced at Apollo Tyres’ state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chennai, India, the Apollo Terra MPT 1 is available in three sizes: 365/80 R20 MPT, 365/85 R20 and 405/70 R20 MPT. All feature the M+S (mud and snow) symbol on the sidewall to certify their all-terrain capabilities. In addition to being sufficiently robust to resist cuts and penetration by sharp objects when operating off-road, the Terra MPT 1 tread is removable to extend its useful life further.
An advanced steel radial carcass construction with steel belts ensures superior durability and stability when traversing varied inclines and loose surfaces, including stones, soil, and sand, while still providing a comfortable and quiet ride on the road. The tyre is compatible with central tyre inflation systems, allowing users to inflate and deflate the tyre pressure depending on the individual scenario.
High-Speed Performance and Compliance
The Apollo Tyres Terra MPT 1 is suitable for use on the road at higher speeds. The three size options have a speed index of J (100 km/h) (365/85 R 20 and 405/70 R20 MPT) or K (110 km/h) (365/80 R 20 MPT) to support effective operation on highways.
To ensure compliance with local legislation, the Terra MPT 1 range has been ECE R-54 type approved and is POR (Professional Off-Road) certified, the latter depicted on the tyre’s sidewall.

The new tyres will be shown for the first time at the IAA Transportation in Hanover, Germany, from 16 to 22 September 2024. Sales will start worldwide in Q1 2025.
