Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Automóviles y Camiones (ANFAC) has published its latest market report for the Spanish automotive market for April with the LCV, industrial vehicle and bus sector.
All Segments Trending Upwards in Spain
Starting with the LCV segment, ANFAC reported that 10,635 units were registered in the month of April which is 12.9% up on the previous year. As for the year-to-date performance in the segment, LCVs are 25.8% ahead at the same stage in 2023. The state of Madrid saw the most registrations in April with 5,557 units sold, a 34.7% improvement on a year ago. On the other hand La Rioja and Extremadura both performed poorly in April reporting 30% and 21% drops respectively.
Moving on to industrial vehicles, the trade association stated that 1,923 units were registered last month. This figure is 11.5% up on April 2022. As for the year-to-date standings, the picture is even rosier with 8,903 units recorded and a 15.6% improvement on the first four months of the year. Iveco and Renault Trucks were the most popular brand in this segment as they sold 342 and 278 units during the month of April. The largest growth was seen in the states of Murcia and Navarra with 64% and 72% jumps registered. Alternatively, Andalucia was 34.4% down year-on-year.
Finally, the bus sector continues to rebound with 278 units registered in the month of April, almost 30% up on the performance 12 months ago. These 278 units took the year-to-date registrations to 1,247 units, 54.9% ahead of the 2022 performance at the same stage. In terms of brands, Solaris and Mercedes proved to be the most popular manufacturers in April 2023 as 75 and 71 units were respectively sold.
