Spanish Imports of Asian Tyres Increase in Year to Date

For their part, imports of truck tyres also accumulate in the first eight months of this year a growth of 43.4% compared to the same period in 2021, with a total of 353,490 imported units, where imports stand out through to August from Thailand (+84.8%), Vietnam (+77.1%) and Japan (+65.9%).
On the contrary, imports of agricultural tyres saw a decrease of 9.2% at the end of August compared to the same period of the previous year, with a total of 159,420 imported units, of which 80,190 units (50%) come from mainly from India otal of 5,891,190 units, of which 4,323,160 units (73%) come mainly from China.
And finally, imports of Asian construction, mining and construction tyres also saw, between January-August, a decrease of 3.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, with a total of 89,370 imported units, where some 36,120 units (40%) come from India and some 32,360 units (36%) come from China.

In the month of August, imports of Asian tyres in the consumer segment (car, 4×4 and van) increased considerably by 60.4%, with a total of 986,830 imported units, of which 760,640 units (77%) come from mainly from China.
Imports of truck tyres registered an increase of 41.9% compared to the same month of the previous year, with a total of 50,590 imported units, highlighting, among others, especially the growth of imports from China ( +43.6%), Vietnam (+133.8%), Thailand (+27.8%) and Japan (+27.2%).
Again, imports of agricultural tyres decreased by 36.4% in August compared to the same period of the previous year, with a total of 16,840 imported units, where the decrease from India (-31.4%) and Chinese (-68.2%).
Finally, the import of Asian mining and construction tyres increased by 10.1% with 13,360 units compared to the month of August of the previous year, highlighting, among others, the growth of imports from China was considerably higher (+107, 5%).
