A particular highlight was the presentation of Goodyear’s new EQMAX and EQMAX ULTRA truck tyres during the IAA Transportation 2024 event in Hanover. Goodyear introduced these new products to the market to support sustainability and performance, and to meet the current needs of transportation fleets. These new tyres are made with up to 55 per cent sustainable materials, offer up to 20 per cent better mileage and up to 6per cent improved rolling resistance compared to their predecessors and are compatible with various powertrains, including electric and hydrogen vehicles. The launch of these products underscores Goodyear’s forward-thinking approach to fleet mobility.

At the same event, Goodyear introduced the latest iteration of its comprehensive Goodyear Total Mobility solution, focused on cost-efficiency and sustainability for fleets. This ecosystem includes the subscription-based Tyres-as-a-Service offering, helping fleets to reduce TCO, optimise tyre management and minimise breakdowns. Goodyear also launched TPMS Connect, a plug-and-play tyre pressure monitoring system that allows fleets equipped with OEM TPMS on their new vehicles to benefit from Goodyear’s solutions and applications that enhance overall fleet efficiency without the need for additional hardware installation.

Goodyear also announced the extension of its title sponsorship and role as exclusive tyre supplier for the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) through the 2025-2027 seasons. Building on its 20 years of experience in the championship, Goodyear will continue to equip every team on the grid with its next-generation truck racing tyres, showcasing its enduring commitment to competing at the highest level of international motorsport.

Goodyear’s motorsport leadership in the commercial vehicle sector was further demonstrated through its partnership with Team De Rooy in the 2024 Dakar Rally. Equipped with Goodyear OFFROAD tyres and advanced TPMS technology, the team navigated 14 days of running across the gruelling Saudi Arabian desert with outstanding reliability and performance. Motorsport remains a proving ground for Goodyear, helping to drive advancements in commercial tyre durability and efficiency. It will continue its support for Team De Rooy in the 2025 Dakar Rally, once again equipping the team with its high-performance Goodyear OFFROAD tyres and advanced TPMS.

The findings of Goodyear’s Sustainable Reality Survey, conducted across Europe between June and October, highlight the growing significance of sustainability within fleet operations. The results show that 63 per cent of fleets rate environmental sustainability as ‘important’—a figure that rises to 93 per cent among mega fleets of more than 500 vehicles. Of these larger fleets, nearly 60 per cent rate sustainability as ‘very important’, underscoring a trend in which reputation and corporate values drive sustainability efforts.

The survey also reveals that cost and complexity remain key challenges for commercial vehicle businesses, highlighting the importance of Goodyear’s new solutions and innovations like the EQMAX and EQMAX ULTRA tyres, TPMS Connect or enhanced Goodyear CheckPoint solution. These initiatives reflect Goodyear’s mission to balance environmental goals with operational demands.
