Following Jorge Cajal’s retirement, Alberto Muñoz will become the new head of communications and public relations at Continental in Spain on January 15, 2025.

About Muñoz

Alberto Muñoz began his professional career in 2006 and has worked for different advertising agencies, such as McCann Worldgroup and Havas Group until he arrived at Porsche AG in 2014. He started working for Continental in 2020 as the head of events, social media and digital communications.

Muñoz will step into Cajal’s position, who has been working for Continental for the past 34 years, firstly as the head of the marketing department and since 2019 as the company’s top manager of corporate communications and external relations. Muñoz will report to the Director of Marketing Tyres, Javier Caballero, who has been leading the Marketing activities for all business units in the tyres sector since 2019.

According to Muñoz: “It will be a wonderful challenge, the bar set by Jorge Cajal is very high, but I will put all my enthusiasm and know-how into this new responsibility that adds to those I have already been developing in the Marketing area since 2020.”

Javier Caballero, Head of Marketing, says: “Firstly, we would like to wish the best to Jorge in his well-deserved retirement and thank him for the extraordinary work he carried out as Director of Communications, taking the brand to high levels of recognition, reputation and consideration that it has today. We would also like to thank Alberto Muñoz for taking on this challenge to continue the path of helping Continental grow in Spain, after the work he had been doing in the tasks of Events, Social Media and Digital Communication. Now with the new tasks of Corporate Communication and with relations with the media and press, I am sure that we will achieve the goals and objectives that we have ahead of us.”
