German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) released its September 2024 data on commercial vehicle registrations in Germany.

According to VDA data, the number of commercial vehicle registrations in Germany declined by 10% in September 2024, with a total of 24,448 registrations. The number, however, increased by 4% from January 2024 to September 2024, with 283,479 registrations.
VDA recorded a total of 1,296 light commercial vehicle registrations in September 2024, representing an 11% decline compared to the same period last year. From January 2024 to September 2024, light commercial vehicle registrations increased by 5%, with a total of 15,914 registrations.
Heavy commercial vehicle registrations (over 16t) significantly declined by 20% in September 2024, with a total of 3,567 registrations. Data from January 2024 to September 2024 follows a declining trend, with a total of 48,363 registrations, representing an 11% decline.
Bus registrations increased by 2%, with a total of 300 registrations in September 2024. The number of bus registrations increased from January 2024 to September 2024 as well, with a total of 4,224 registrations, representing an 8% increase.
