Yesterday, Goodyear announced Tyres-as-a-Service – a subscription-based solution combining Goodyear’s tyres, practical information and services, based on Goodyear Total Mobility.

This new Goodyear solution targets commercial vehicle fleets and last-mile delivery fleets, helping customers save time and reduce their total cost of ownership by outsourcing tyre management and using the new subscription-based solution. At the same time, it can help increase fleet availability, reduce the number of tyre-related vehicle breakdowns and reduce CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.
In a pilot project in Europe, Tyres-as-a-Service helped reduce the number of tyre-related breakdowns by 50% and reduced the fleet’s fuel consumption by 4%. Another U.S.-based pilot project focused on last-mile delivery fleets showed a reduction in terms of total cost of ownership, a reduction of the number of tyre-related breakdowns by around 80% and the company’s tyre inventory reduction by 100%.
