Caterpillar Off-Highway Rigid Dump Trucks worldwide will be equipped with Continental RDT-Master tyres, which feature built-in sensors for professional tyre monitoring. This partnership highlights Continental’s growth strategy in the earthmoving segment.
Empowering the Partnership with Caterpillar: Continental Receives Approval for Off-Highway Truck Tyres
Continental has announced its most recent Original Equipment approval of the RDT-Master off-the-road (OTR) tyre. It is approved for use on Caterpillar’s Off-Highway Truck machine models and indicated in the price lists. Customers can specify their Off-Highway Truck models with Continental RDT-Master tyres ex works.
Continental’s RDT-Master has been designed to meet the rigorous demands of construction and mining operations. Because of the multiple requirements of earthmoving tyre fitments, the range includes three different sizes: 18.00 R33, 21.00 R33, and 24.00 R35. These tyre sizes are approved for CAT 770, 772, 773, 775, and 775 WTR machine models.
This endorsement marks a pivotal milestone for Continental, highlighting its tyres’ quality, durability, and performance in the earthmoving segment.
Easy Tyre Monitoring Thanks to Integrated Tyre Sensor
Continental is committed to innovation, sustainability, and solutions that drive its clients’ efficiency and productivity.
“We are excited that Caterpillar is expanding its tyre range with the RDT-Master from us. This exemplifies our growth ambitions in the earthmoving segment. We steadfastly commit to pushing forward as a strong partner for our customers, empowering them with unparalleled support and tailor-made solutions,” says Carly Shipley, Key Account Manager for Earthmoving original equipment at Continental Specialty Tyres.
With this commitment to innovation and sustainability, Continental delivers all its radial earthmover tyres, like the RDT-Master, as intelligent tyres. These feature the latest Bluetooth-enabled sensor Generation II, which is ex-factory ready for digital tyre management. This allows customers to read essential tyre life data, such as air pressure and temperature, directly via their smartphone without extra investments. Digital tyre management decisively increases operational safety while ensuring a maximum service life. This helps reduce the total cost of ownership and promotes sustainable use of materials.
