Continental Tire’s Plant in Portugal Receives ISCC PLUS Sustainability Certification and Opens New Solutions Centre
Continental Gains ISS PLUS for Lousado
Continental’s tyre plant in Lousado, Portugal, has recently received International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS. This internationally recognised certification confirms Continental’s compliance with special sustainability standards at its Lousado plant.
“At Lousado, highly qualified employees are supporting our global team with new business models and our ecosystem of digital solutions for premium tires,” said Christian Kötz, head of the tyres business sector at Continental.
High standards of transparency and traceability of renewable and recycled raw materials are certified throughout the entire supply chain.
This represents another important milestone on the path to 100% sustainable materials in the premium manufacturer’s tyre products by 2050 at the latest.
“The certification underlines our firm commitment to greater transparency throughout the entire supply chain,” says Jorge Almeida, Director of Sustainability at Continental.
In addition, Continental has opened a new Solutions Centre in the same plant, with which it will reinforce its commitment to digital tyre solutions, e-commerce and Industry 4.0 applications
