FederUnacoma (Federazione Nazionale Construttori Macchine per l’Agricoltura), the agricultural machinery manufacturer’s association for Italy has published its tractor registrations for the first 6 months of the year with a 52% year-on-year increase underlining the recovery.
FederUnacoma Publishes H1 Registrations
This 52% year-on-year growth in tractor registrations can be explained by the 12,537 tractor units sold in comparison with the 8,222 units over the first half of 2020. Additionally, sales in combine harvesters also grew by almost 64% with 229 units sold. There were also record increases for trailers with a 40% year-on-year growth held up by the sale of 4,769 units, whilst telehandlers have recorded an 85% improvement compared to the first half of 2020.
During the FederUnacoma assembly held in Bologna, the association highlighted that the boom in registrations could be explained by the market recovery in 2021 compared to H1 in 2020 which was blighted by lockdowns. Additionally, FederUnacoma underlined the importance of investments and tax incentives for those with cutting-edge machinery, which have also aided the recovery.
Agricultural tyre dealers and manufacturers in Italy will be hoping that this continued investment in agricultural machinery translates into the sales of more tyres whether that be in the original equipment or replacement markets
