The latest tractor registrations figures arising from the press communication issued by the Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación (Ministry for Agriculture, Fishing and Food) show that August 2021 is slightly behind August 2020, whilst still remaining significantly ahead of where the market was in year-to-date terms in 2020.
Tractor Sales 17.11% Ahead in Year-to-Date Registrations
According to the latest figures released by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fishing and Food in Spain, 735 tractors were registered in August 2021. This number was almost 8% in arrears to the registrations recorded in August 2020. Despite this, the market remains in a strong position looking at the year-to-date status with sales 17.11% ahead at the same stage in 2020, as 7,257 units were sold across Spain in 2021 to date. Andalucía remains at the top of the tree in terms of tractor registrations as 170 units were recorded across the month with Castilla La Mancha following with 109 units.
The trends seen with tractors were replicated with the registrations of agricultural machinery, which covers harvesting equipment, loading equipment, tractor trucks and power tillers, with the market reporting a near 30% decrease in registrations compared to August 2020 as 101 units were registered. Castilla La Mancha and Castilla y León led the way in respect of commercial activity as 24 and 18 units were sold respectively. Considering the year-on-year decrease, the year-to-date data remained 5.56% ahead of 2020.
