Heavy Duty Bus and Truck Wheel at Forefront of Alcoa’s Offer at Trade Fair
The Ultra One wheel family is a heavy/duty bus and truck wheel that has a payload of 4,000 kg and was announced as the latest edition to the portfolio of Alcoa®1 Wheels. The use of the manufacturer’s proprietary MagnaForce® alloy technology was key in delivering a product which has added strength when compared to the industry standard.
At the time of the launch, István Katus, Vice President EMEA of Howmet Wheel Systems said; “Our latest innovation, the 22.5 x 7.5 Ultra ONE® Alcoa® Wheel with 250 kg extra payload provides immediate benefits especially for electrical city buses, supporting fleets to reach the ambitious European emission reduction mobility targets.”
This new 22.5 x 7.5 Ultra ONE® Alcoa® Wheel has been designed for city buses and according to the company offers “immediate and significant benefits” in the shape of increased payload of 4,000kg, compatibility with adhesive and clip on balancing weights, compatibility with leading TPMS valve mounting systems, and availability in all wheel finishes. The manufacturer highlighted that this bus wheel was designed to meet the growing trend on payload demands by fleets and transport companies with the initial reaction being very positive.
Further to this, Alcoa Wheels was also presenting a black wheel concept on the stand, which the manufacturer suggested was a means of testing how users reacted to the colour. The concept is being targeted at medium and smaller fleets.
